About You - Personal information and how we use it

The Data Protection Act puts obligations on users of personal information and lays down principles for its use.  One principle states that information has to be processed fairly and lawfully.  This means that you are entitled to know how we intend to use any information you provide. Find out more about the security steps we take when opening your account.  Please remember that the security checks are also for your protection.

Information about Your Mortgage

This booklet is sent to you with your mortgage offer so you can read it before you enter into the mortgage.  You will also find it useful during the lifetime of your mortgage.  Information about your mortgage explains our present practice and procedures which apply to mortgages.  These practices and procedures may change from time to time in the future.

Mortgage Conditions

The conditions which apply to your mortgage are shown in these booklets, your mortgage offer, and any other agreement we make with you. You should read these documents carefully. If your mortgage completed before September 2007 you will have received Mortgage Conditions 2004 (2nd Edition).  If your mortgage completed after this date, then please refer to Mortgage Conditions 2007.

Mortgage Fees

We charge certain fees in connection with mortgages.  These are set out in our Mortgage Fees leaflet and unless we state otherwise, can change from time to time.

Personal Customer Complaints

We aim to offer you the best possible service, but there may be occasions when you feel you have cause for complaint. If so, we will always try to resolve the problem quickly and to your satisfaction. Find out more about our complaints procedure.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage
